Challenge
On the path to become more data-driven and empower the business, Reconor is working to increasingly collect, activate and utilize data and insights – with higher frequency and improved transparency. Approaching data as an asset to help reach strategic- and environmental goals. However, the transformation into working with data as an asset is complex including both processes, systems, data and people.
To accelerate the ambition of becoming more data-driven Reconor Group partnered with Codellent to implement a new data architecture as the central source of truth and foundation for Data & AI use-cases.
Solution
Codellent helped Reconor design and implement a new scalable data architecture as the core engine of data products and decision making. The solution architecture handle data from multiple systems and databases with different update frequencies, different usage scenarios, custom applied business logic and different requirements across entities and countries. The data is transformed and modelled to provide products that cover financials, logistics, waste-delivery, ESG, customer insights, machine utilization etc. as well as steady operations across all 13 Reconor companies.
Additionally, the data platform also deliver data to embedded reports, external API’s, datasets and AI-models.
The solution architecture is based on Airflow, dbt and Snowflake in an Azure cloud setup. Power BI is used for semantic models and business insights. Both Azure Foundry and Snowflake Cortex are used for AI-models.
The Result
The implementation of the Data Platform architecture in Reconor has been a huge success delivering business value throughout all project phases.
The business gets insights and cross-functional analysis delivered in near real-time in user-friendly data products. Today, more than 100 unique users are using the products leading to improved decisions and higher productivity. At the same time the Data Platform solution has created a foundation for scalability in Reconor expanding into new business domains.
