Data & AI platform as the foundation of scaling
Challenge
In Reconor’s daily operations, decisions are constantly made regarding planning, capacity, logistics, and resources. These decisions are based on information from many different sources: order management systems, financial systems, operational data, machine data, and manual registrations.
The challenge was not a lack of information. Quite the opposite.
The information already existed, but it was scattered across systems and different workflows. This made it difficult to gain a consolidated overview and see connections across the business—especially when decisions needed to be made quickly.
At the same time, Reconor wanted to make greater use of historical data and continuously updated information to understand operational patterns, anticipate challenges, and plan more effectively for the future. This required a shared foundation—a place where data could be collected, structured, and made accessible in a way that supported daily operations.
To accelerate its ambition of becoming more data-driven and predictive, Reconor Group entered into a partnership with Codellent to implement a new Data Platform as the foundation for insights, analytics, and automation.
Solution
Codellent supported Reconor through multiple phases in establishing a single, shared Data Platform, which today serves as a unified foundation across the group’s 13 companies.
The platform consolidates information from 15 different systems within Reconor, including finance, logistics, operations, customers, orders, sensors, HR, and ESG. Where data was previously distributed across many systems and workflows, it has now been gathered, structured, and made accessible through a shared model that reflects Reconor’s actual business.
This means that employees across the organization work from the same data foundation -whether they are responsible for planning, capacity, resources, or reporting.
The solution makes it possible to answer very concrete, day-to-day questions such as “How much soil are we receiving tomorrow?” or “Which customers contribute the most in the Eastern region?” and to use those answers directly in planning and decision-making.
At the same time, the Data Platform is designed to be continuously expandable. Data from new systems, additional insights, and models can be added as the business evolves, and the platform supports both automation and the use of AI where it makes practical sense.
The technology has been selected with a focus on stable operations and scalability, but above all, the solution is designed to fit into Reconor’s everyday work and to be usable by the people closest to daily operations.
The Result
The Data Platform solution has been one of the decisive elements in Reconor’s digital transformation, as it has enabled the activation and combination of a wide range of information across systems and external sources into a shared data foundation.
One up-to-date version of the truth—used both in daily operations and in management reporting across the group.
Where overview and insight previously required numerous Excel spreadsheets and extensive manual work, Reconor now has a single foundation that can be used directly in day-to-day operations. In addition, the data foundation has been significantly enhanced with new perspectives, providing, for example, deeper operational insights as well as ESG insights - both internally and externally. This is essential in an industry where transparency and integrity are critical competitive parameters.
For users, this means that decisions can be made faster and on a better, more informed basis. Different data products and dashboards provide insights into both financial and operational performance. At the same time, ongoing analysis has become easier and more accessible. Ad-hoc analysis and deeper insights are now just a few clicks away—saving time, improving decision quality, and enabling better planning.
At the same time, the Data Platform enables more proactive and advanced use of information. For example, AI models can be applied to predict the volume of soil that will be delivered to a specific location, or to identify customers who may be at risk of churn. It has also enabled automatic invoice validation and the active use of credit policies.
